The problem
I run a couple of small websites and a mobile app. I check my Google Analytics data daily — how many users, where they come from, what pages they visit.
Google has an official Analytics mobile app, and it's fine for browsing existing reports. But it doesn't let you build your own dashboards. You can't pick your own metrics, arrange your own widgets, or create the layout you want. It's a viewer, not a builder.
For custom dashboards, the standard answer is Looker Studio. It's powerful and free — but it's a browser-based desktop tool. On a phone screen, it's not a great experience, and for my simple needs it always felt like overkill.
What I wanted was simple: an app on my phone where I can build a dashboard with exactly the charts and numbers I care about, and check it in 10 seconds while drinking my morning coffee.
So I built EasyDash
EasyDash is a native Android app that connects directly to your Google Analytics 4 property and lets you build custom dashboards with drag-and-drop widgets. It works with any GA4 property — websites, and even Android/iOS apps if you have Firebase Analytics linked to Google Analytics.
Your phone talks straight to Google's Analytics API. I never see, store, or process your analytics data — my backend only handles user authentication and dashboard layout backup.
What it does today:
- Drag-and-drop dashboard editor with a grid-based layout
- Line charts, bar charts, pie charts, waterfall charts, metric cards, and data tables
- Multi-page dashboards with swipe navigation
- Custom metric builder — create filtered metrics and calculated metrics
- 3 starter dashboard templates with basic stats to get you going
- Quick-select date range presets
- Dimension filters (country, device, source/medium, and more)
- Smart local caching to minimize GA4 API quota usage
- Cloud sync for your dashboard layouts (PRO feature)
What it's NOT
I want to be upfront:
- It's not a replacement for Google Analytics. GA4 is a full analytics platform. EasyDash just visualizes the data it already collects.
- It's not a Looker Studio replacement. If you need advanced segments, cross-property reporting, or deep exploration tools — Looker Studio is the right tool.
- It's not a BI tool. No funnels, no attribution modeling, no cohort analysis.
EasyDash is for people like me — solo devs, small site owners, indie makers — who want a quick, personalized view of their basic GA4 data on their phone without the complexity.
It's early days — and I need your help
The app is live on Google Play, but it's still in its early stages. The core works — dashboards, widgets, data loading, caching — but there's a lot more I want to build.
That's why I'm posting here. I'm looking for honest feedback:
- What's missing? What would make you actually use this daily?
- What's confusing? Where did you get stuck or think "this should be simpler"?
- What works well? So I know what to keep.
- What needs to change? Anything that feels off or doesn't work as expected.
I'm a solo developer building this in my spare time. Every piece of feedback shapes what I work on next.
